Thank your members of Congress for passing COVID relief legislation
After months of work, we did it! Thanks to your advocacy, Congress just passed COVID-19 relief legislation that includes funding that will help states provide mental health services and supports.
People are struggling as a result of the pandemic, economic downturn and fight for racial equity — and the need for a strong mental health system has never been greater.
This bill helps by:
- Providing flexible funding through the mental health block grant so states and local communities can decide where the money should be best spent to support people with mental health conditions
- Limits what people have to pay when they receive surprise medical bills after being treated by out-of-network providers
- Creates new requirements of health insurers to increase compliance with mental health parity

NAMI advocates have sent over 65,000 messages to Capitol Hill to fight for this funding for mental health. As we reflect on a difficult year, we are grateful to you for your role in making this possible.
We hope you will help with one more action. Send a thank you to your members of Congress for including mental health in this important bill.
